Adrian's Personal Training Testimonial

I first met Clare in 2016 when I was 54 years-old. I am a keen swimmer with several triathlons completed. My initial need was general fitness and weight loss coaching. Within 6 months I had dropped 5kg, but more importantly I had reduced my body fat from 25% to 17% and had significantly increased my muscle percentage

I then wanted to train for long distance cycle races and marathons. So, I joined Clare in her own purpose-built training facility at her home in Hertfordshire.

To achieve my goal Clare worked out a detailed nutrition programme using My Fitness Pal as a guide. Dead lifts and squats were incorporated into my strength and fitness programme, I gradually worked from repping 80kg (which is my body weight) to 160kg. This increased my average wattage output from 220 to 360; with my max output to 1450 watts which I could hold for 30 seconds.

The use of TRX bands, the step-up box, the reformer bed and the weighted jacket all played a key part. Core work for any sport is a must and this was always incorporated into all our sessions.

I am not a runner but completed the Edinburgh Marathon in 2018 in 4hrs 18 mins. I have also completed the Prudential 100 cycle race in 5hrs 28 mins. The greatest challenge was the Surrey 100 cycle race with over 12,000 feet of climbing which I completed in 5hrs 45mins.
